Ridgley is a small rural community located about 13 kilometres south-west of Burnie where Pet Reservoir was constructed in 1956. Surrounded by gently sloping grassy banks, it is a quiet destination limited to foot access only and a great fishing spot stocked with brown and rainbow trout. To the west of Ridgley, Guide Falls is a popular waterfall where there is a short well-maintained track meanders to the bottom of the waterfall where you can enjoy the scenic view then continue to the top of the falls where you will be greeted with a viewing platform. There are other waterfalls in the vicinity for the experienced hiker. The area has large tracts of plantation forest in testament to its logging heritage.
