Description
The Abels, Section 8, focuses on eleven Abels located in the southwest of Tasmania from north of Lake Gordon to the south of the Lyell Highway. In addition to the insightful descriptions of these wonderful, and mostly remote, mountains are essays on the various inhabitants of these special realms. Fascinating facts and portraiture on reptiles, crustaceans, orchids, insects and spiders have all been given their own dedicated sections that provide the reader with more than just a book on track notes. A section on photographic advice for young Abel adventurers has been authored by Matt Brain, who himself has provided many stunning images for this and previous editions. Finally, there is a section on three folks who have climbed the Abels.
